Doors Specifications

Quality doors demand quality construction. Zanera does not "cut corners" when we manufacture our doors. Because we use the best construction techniques on all our doors, we prevent warping, twisting, water infiltration and other issues that are a result of poor construction.

  • Wood Species: Genuine solid Mahogany
  • Engineered Construction: Old World Mortise and Tenon
    • Solid Mahogany stave-core (butcher block core) to prevent warping, twisting or cupping
    • Floating panels glazed with Dow 995 to ensure panels can float without air or moisture penetration
    • Solid Mahogany panels with offset joints biscuitted for joint strength
    • All 4 sides of door rabbited to ensure no water infiltration
    • Face of stile and rail covered with ¼” overlay, not a thin veneer
    • Doors are pre-hung on jambs
    • Doors and jambs are weather-stripped
    • Astragal on interior and exterior to prevent water infiltration
  • Size: Doors are custom made to meet the size requirements of your customers.
  • Thickness: Thicker doors and jambs than the industry norm of 1¾” for added security
    • 2¼” thick door and can go up to 3”
    • 1¾” thick jambs
    • 1¾” thick Mahogany threshold, for beauty and strength
  • Joints: All joints are glued with Franklin Multibond Advantage II, a two-part waterproof catalyzed glue.
  • Hinges: We use heavy duty 4½” x 4 ½” solid brass hinges with acorn finials specially manufactured exclusively for Zanera.
  • Glass: Insulated laminated glass using 4 panes totaling ¾“ thick
  • Lock: Single or multi-point locks & handles
  • Finish: Doors are delivered pre-finished (with one prime coat).

    • Pre-hung Mahogany jambs (sizing is specific to project)
    • Interior and exterior Mahogany molding
    • Astragal on double door units if specified
    • Solid brass oversize hinges with acorn finials
    • Door sweep
